I am a creative, driven professional.
I have over 20 years experience in packaging, design, and product development and over 10 years of proven leadership in traditional and new media environments. It is my goal to create design work that is not only functional and aesthetically pleasing, but also representative of your core ideology and mission.
Some Milestones Along the Way
1999: Creative Street
Playing in the Big Leagues
Created the full graphics package for the controversial, first long-form DTC pharmaceutical infomercial for Eli Lilly’s Prozac Brand, a product with 2.4 billion dollars in annual sales at the time.
2000-2003: iLrn
Knowledge Unbound
Creative lead on iLrn, a first-of-its-kind, and well ahead of its time, Interactive Education and Learning Resource Management platform for the Secondary and Higher Education marketplace that was later acquired by Thompson Learning.
2009-2011: OmniGlow, LLC.
There's No Business Like Glow Business
Generated compelling packaging design, retail merchandising displays, and product presentations leading to a 1400% increase in revenue with Walmart, the world's largest retailer, from $500k to $7 Million annually in two years.
2008-2015: OmniGlow, LLC.
If You Build It, They Will Come
Singe-handedly proposed, designed, launched, and maintained OmniGlow's first Direct to Consumer eCommerce website utilizing Magento's Open Source Community Edition resulting in year over year revenue growth until its closing. This was a previously latent, untapped market for a company that had previously only sold wholesale.
Smelling salts have often been used by athletes who believe they give them a competitive edge by boosting their alertness. Two enterprising graduate students from BYU recognized a latent potential market for smelling salts geared toward the consumer market, and approached my company to help them in establishing a foot-hold in the athletic supplements industry. The twist they put on the product was to decrease the ammonia content, while still maintaining its effectiveness, and infusing the ampoules with aromatherapy scents thought to also aid in alertness.
My approach to the design of their identity was to use a lithe typeface with fluid letterforms for their logo, and bold sans-serif typefaces for any supporting copy. I modified the logo typeface to have the "i" in GoTime™ mimic a runner, chest first, breaking the tape in a race. For their packaging and collateral materials my goal was to create a dynamic presence by utilizing athletic imagery, strong fluorescents, and spot-varnishes to elicit a feeling of high-end performance and confidence in the effective function of the product.
The glow business is an incredibly seasonal affair. July 4th may be big here in the States for glow, but Halloween is by far the biggest. The Monster Glow™ brand from Omniglow was designed to capitalize on the increased demand of consumers looking for both Fun and Safety glow items, and to stand out from the commodity items flooding the market from overseas. The bright packaging, and prominent product imagery was designed to catch both impulse purchasers and those who already had the purchase in mind.

Super Glow
Identity & Flexible Packaging
Up until the introduction of the Super Glow™ brand and product line by Amscan, Inc. their glow offerings were from multiple vendors with disparate packaging. My task was to consolidate the entire glow line under the Super Glow™ name, create the branding and identity, and all of the packaging while documenting and compiling a Style Guide that could be used by Amscan internally to maintain the brand identity. My goal was to increase the shelf-impact, and through modularization of package sizes the ability to planogram entire store sections more easily. The line consisted of nearly 50 glow items, each with individual package designs consisting of custom photographed smiling kids and prominent product images. I also created seasonal, and program specific variants of the packaging targeted toward differing demographics and store placement.
